The successful Team Resolute bid includes Harland & Wolff and final assembly of the three vessels will take place in Belfast.

Mr Robinson is a member of Parliament’s Defence Select Committee and is also Chair of the ADS (Aerospace, Defence and Security) Group at Westminster.

Speaking after the visit he said, “Today’s visit represents an exciting new chapter for the future of Harland & Wolff. The yard has faced many challenges, but the construction of these vessels for the Royal Navy signifies the hope for a much brighter future.

The selection of this bid by the Ministry of Defence is a major vote of confidence in the Team Resolute members, of which Harland & Wolff are a key part. Belfast will be at the heart of delivering these new vessels which will play a key role in bolstering our nation’s defence capabilities.
