Mr Robinson is Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Aerospace in Westminster.
Highlighting Saturday’s event he said,
“Northern Ireland’s defence, security and aerospace sectors employ over 7,000 people and contribute £1.5billion to the economy locally. Spirit AeroSystems are a growing part of this sector, and their jobs event is a further vote of confidence in the Northern Ireland economy and our local workforce.
The jobs on offer are well paid, skilled production fitters, and significantly those without previous aerospace experience will receive training at the company’s skills centre.
Spirit are not just a regionally significant company, but are a significant player in the United Kingdom’s defence and aerospace sector. Their growth and development is good news for the wider sector, in which East Belfast is the hub for Northern Ireland.”
