Paisley - £40m would have been better spent on recruiting police officers

Following the publication of the Operation Kenova Report, DUP North Antrim MP Ian Paisley said the report has been a waste of money and resources that would have been better spent on recruiting police officers to prevent crime rather than prop up a cover up

Mr Paisley said,

“After spending £40 million investigating the Freddie Scappaticci nutting squad or death squad set up and directed by the IRA, today the authorities believe it is the U.K. government who owns the public an apology.

What perverse, Alice in wonderland world does the author and the report come from.

The public must ask who gave Freddie Scappaticci his orders to kill people. Was it the well known members of the IRA army council - some of whom have been elected representatives. Or are we expected to believe the U.K. authorities are to blame. That’s what we are being asked to do.

To suspend reality, rewrite history and blame the U.K. government for the IRA and all it’s terrorism. What planet are these people on?

The report has been a waste of money and resources that would have been better spent on recruiting police officers to prevent crime rather than prop up a cover up.”
