Speaking after raising it at Prime Ministers Questions the DUP MP said, "The Prime Minister again today was absolutely clear that triggering Article 16 is entirely legitimate and legal within the terms of the Protocol.

Given the devastating impact the Protocol is having on Northern Ireland, including costing our economy £850 million per year it simply is not sustainable for this to continue. The onus is on the European Union to now find agreement which can work for both sides. If they continue with their stubborn refusal then the United Kingdom will not only be justified in taking the necessary unilateral action to restore Northern Ireland's place within the UK internal market, but it will have no other option than to do so."
