'Not Forgotten' event held in Londonderry

DUP MLA Gary Middleton said, " This was a poignant and dignified event marking a very significant anniversary in the history of Londonderry. These two officers were gunned down just three days before the events which became known as Bloody Sunday.

It is vital that the service and sacrifice of all those who stood against terrorism is remembered. This is particularly important given the concerted attempts to rewrite history in Northern Ireland and to denigrate those who served in our security forces.

We will continue to ensure that Const Montgomery and Sgt Gilgunn are not forgotten."
