Speaking from Westminster, Mr Wilson said:
“Before Labour’s first Budget, business leaders were already sounding the alarm about the immense challenges they face in sustaining employment, generating profits, and simply staying afloat.
Instead of offering support to help businesses navigate these difficulties, Labour has opted to extract even more money from already struggling firms. By raising Employers’ National Insurance Contributions, the Chancellor has demonstrated a blatant disregard for the concerns of small and medium-sized family business owners.
The consequences of Rachel Reeves’ decisions will be devastating - higher unemployment, soaring inflation, stagnant growth, and inevitably even higher taxes in the future as we spiral into economic decline.
This Government appears deaf to the warnings of the dire consequences its policies will have on the economy. We urgently need a government that will breathe life into our economy—not tax our businesses to death.”
