Speaking following meeting with a number of the staff, Paul Givan said: “I want to put on record my sincere thanks to all those Education Authority staff who have worked extremely hard, sometimes in very challenging conditions, to protect our school estate and ensure those schools which had to close reopened safely and as quickly as possible.

“Staff from across all departments within the EA really stood up to the challenges and widespread disruption brought by the storm, working long hours to support the Principals and staff of those schools impacted. A lot of this work goes unseen so that is why I thought it was important to meet with some of the staff and thank them personally for their continuing hard work and commitment.”
