Speaking in support of the campaign, Mr. Dunne said:

“Marie Curie provides exceptional end-of-life care, ensuring that those living with terminal illness receive the dignity, comfort, and support they need and deserve. Their dedicated nurses and healthcare professionals make a profound difference to patients and their families, delivering compassionate care at home and in hospice settings.

Palliative care plays a crucial role in helping people manage pain and symptoms while also providing vital emotional and practical support to loved ones during incredibly difficult times. The tireless efforts of Marie Curie staff ensure that no one faces the end of life alone.

The generosity of people across Northern Ireland has been instrumental in supporting Marie Curie’s work, and I want to commend all those who have fundraised and donated to this important cause.

I encourage everyone to get behind the Great Daffodil Appeal this March, whether by wearing a daffodil pin, making a donation, or raising awareness. Every contribution helps ensure that Marie Curie can continue its invaluable work for those who need it most.”
