Mr Brett said,
“I am proud to welcome the successful completion of Project Stratum. This was the largest telecoms infrastructure initiative ever undertaken in Northern Ireland. It has been delivered on time and within budget. This achievement is not only a testament to the dedication of all involved, particularly the team at Fibrus, but also a major step forward in transforming connectivity for rural homes and businesses across our region.
This was only made possible through the Democratic Unionist Party’s vision and influence in securing funding as part of the Confidence and Supply Agreement with the then Government. Thanks to that strategic intervention, tens of thousands of previously underserved premises now have access to fast, reliable broadband, a basic utility in today’s digital world.
Northern Ireland now leads the way across the europe and the British Isles in full fibre rollout.
This is what focused political leadership delivers. It was an idea developed by the DUP in 2016, funding secured in 2017, contract awarded in 2019 and project completed in 2025.
We believe in Making NI Work. Others talk about it but we get on and make this place we call home the best it can be.”
