Jonathan is the Party’s economy spokesperson and he said,

“The number one reason why investors come to Northern Ireland is because of the skills of our young people. Apprenticeships are a key driver in developing those skills and therefore contributing to the Northern Ireland economy.

I have been engaging with local companies and hearing first hand the benefits that come to both employers and employees through apprenticeships. National Apprenticeship Week is a good time to once again highlight the opportunities that are open via apprenticeships which offer an opportunity to not just gain skills, but vital experience directly in the workplace.

If we are to grow our economy then developing skills will be at the heart of this and the DUP is committed to increasing the level of funding for skills, rolling out more skills academies and expanding all age apprenticeships across key sectors of the economy.”
