Mr Buckley said,
“The people who staff our railways and buses are just trying to earn a wage for their families. They should not have to deal with violent attacks in the course of their job.
All buses, stations, and trains are fitted with CCTV and I trust any found to be busing staff will be dealt with robustly in our courts. There must be zero tolerance and staff must see that we are on their side.
Pictures of conductors with bloodied faces are horrific and when people are found guilty of such attacks, they must be severely punished.”
