Tribute to Cllr Paul Hamill from Lord Dodds

DUP Peer Lord Dodds has paid tribute to DUP Councillor Paul Hamill who passed away today.

By The Rt Hon Lord Dodds of Duncairn OBE Peer

He said, “I am devastated to learn of Paul’s passing. I have known him since before he was an elected representative and even before he joined the DUP. Throughout that time he has been a tower of strength to me personally and to the Party within North Belfast.

Paul was a tireless worker for the people of Rathcoole and the wider Newtownabbey area. He touched the lives of many people during his time as a local Councillor and he will be greatly missed by everyone in the area. He was a Believer in his Lord and Saviour and reached many more people also through his pastoral work with Belfast City Mission.

My thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Ruth, his daughters, and the wider family at this difficult time. I can only hope that the support and good wishes from so many people, particularly in the Rathcoole area will be of some comfort to the family as they face into a future without their much-loved husband and father.”
