Sir Jeffrey announces Assembly spokespeople

DUP Leader Sir Jeffrey Donaldson MP has announced a reshuffle of spokespeople within the DUP Assembly team.

Sir Jeffrey said,

“The Party has a plan for Northern Ireland that was endorsed last May and that’s why we want to stymie the undermining of our devolved institutions by the Protocol. We want to see the NI Executive and Assembly restored on a stable footing.

Whilst London and Brussels must focus on replacing the Protocol with arrangements that unionists can support, we will continue working and engaging across a wide range of policy areas to ensure that voices are heard, and concerns are addressed.

We need more investment and reform in our public services yet as Treasury has confirmed, the Trader Support Service which helps companies deal with NI Protocol generated paperwork, has cost the taxpayer £318.7 million in just over two years. That’s £18k per hour or £3million every single week. The Protocol is not disconnected from our public services.”
