Sir Jeffrey said,
“I was born in 1962. By that stage Her Majesty The Queen was leading our nation for more than a decade.
The Queen has been a constant for good in our lives. A constant example in leadership, with her strong faith a constant reminder to place our hope in a Higher Power. She has been steadfast and loved throughout the nation. A monarch never afraid to give leadership by bringing communities together, as we witnessed here in Northern Ireland.
Having represented Royal Hilsborough for more than 25 years, it has been an honour to have The Queen stay in and visit the village on many occasions. The people of the village speak fondly of her warmth and interest in Northern Ireland.
On such an historic occasion, I am delighted that the Colour being Trooped down the ranks will be that of the Irish Guards. This is a tremendous honour for the local men and women participating in this magnificent event which will be beamed to an audience of millions across the world.
I am delighted to wish Her Majesty a wonderful Platinum Jubilee. Long may she reign, defend our laws and ever give us cause to sing with heart and voice, God save the Queen.”
