West Belfast will be a key target in the forthcoming election for Unionism to return a strong and positive voice to the NI Assembly.
Commenting ahead of his visit, Sir Jeffrey said,
“Since becoming leader of the DUP, I have had the pleasure of traveling to every corner of Northern Ireland to hear directly from people about their hopes and ambitions for their families and their communities.
The unionist people of West Belfast have been denied a strong and positive voice in the Northern Ireland Assembly for far too long. I am determined to ensure that these communities are no longer ignored.
In 2016, the people of West Belfast experienced the damage that splitting the Unionist vote causes, with 89 votes denying them a voice in the Northern Ireland Assembly for the first time in a generation.
I know at this election, they are determined to ensure the mistakes of the past are not repeated and Unionism will stand together to deliver that much needed strong and positive representation.
The people of Northern Ireland deserve better and I am determined to deliver better for all of our people.
That will mean reforming and improving our health service, ensuring all communities enjoy the benefits of a growing economy, tackling the cost of living and ensuring all our young people have the tools to fulfil their full ambition.
I have been humbled by the support from the people of Northern Ireland to deliver my vision for our next century and I know the people of West Belfast will play their full part next May, in ensuring we can fulfil that promise of a better future.”
