DUP Leader Designate Edwin Poots has praised the work of the Ulster-Scots Agency following a meeting with the Chief Executive Ian Crozier and Chairperson Keith Gamble.
Mr Poots said, “Within Northern Ireland it is vital we recognise all our cultural traditions as equally important and as being part of the fabric of society here.
The work of the Ulster-Scots Agency has been invaluable in highlighting the huge depth of Ulster-Scots language and culture which many of us take for granted. I am very thankful to the Chief Executive and Chair of the Agency for taking time to meet with us and outline the fantastic work they are carrying out.
In this centenary year we can see the lasting legacy that many Ulster-Scots have had in shaping Northern Ireland. I know this contribution will grow as we look forward to our second century.”
