Paisley calls for continued support for hydrogen sector

The DUP MP said,

“This week I attended the major ‘Hydrogen for Life’ conference in the Science Museum, London. This event brought together professionals from across the world who spoke about the innovations and next steps in this field.

As a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group on hydrogen, we hosted a meeting at the event and promoted some of the work and opportunities available. Jo Bamford was one of the speakers at the conference and Wrightbus have already ensured that Northern Ireland is at the cutting edge of this technology and playing a part in developing a low Carbon economy.

The Government did announce a hydrogen fund last year, but given the obvious employment and environmental advantages I want to see support continuing, particularly to drive further innovation and ensure that Northern Ireland in particular continues to be ahead of the curve in this growing industry.”
