The Foyle MLA said.
“Our political institutions only have meaning if they are delivering fairly for all our people based on the principles of equality and mutual respect.
They only have value if they enjoy the confidence and support of the people they were established to serve.
They can only work if both Unionists as well as Nationalists are respected.
The people of Northern Ireland have had enough of the institutions being used as a weapon to insult and humiliate the unionist community.
They have had enough of Sinn Fein preaching equality, yet practising intolerance.
They have had enough of Sinn Fein lecturing us about respect, yet disrespecting unionism at every turn.
Northern Ireland can only continue to move forward, if we do so together on the basis of fairness and mutual respect.
We want devolution to work, but our politics are broken. The people of Northern Ireland will soon have the opportunity to repair our politics and reset relations. Now is the moment to restore fairness for all.”
