“The Government’s decision to impose a tax on family farms is indefensible and it has caused both fear and anger amongst farmers right across the UK. Farmers and anyone living in rural areas can see the value of farmland and know just how many farms will be impacted.
Northern Ireland’s farm structure is built nearly entirely on family farms. Therefore, any impact will all fall on families who have often worked over many generations to build their livelihood, only now to see it threatened. No-one should be seeking to minimise the impact of this decision.”
