We will always welcome any Presidential visit to the United Kingdom, but in any discussion around Northern Ireland it is important there is recognition of the need for Northern Ireland to move forward on solid foundations.
In any divided society, progress can only be achieved through consensus. In Northern Ireland that means operating political arrangements that both unionists and nationalists support.”
