Mrs Lockhart who is a member of the Committee said, “We wish Sir Robert well in his role as Chair. He brings with him significant experience within government, and of Northern Ireland from his time as a member of the Committee.
The Committee encompasses a broad range of perspectives and I trust Sir Robert will ensure that the differing perspectives within the Committee are understood and articulated. Previous chairs have a chequered record in this regard, but it is a vital part of the role he is taking over.
He has been elected unopposed and I hope that he can continue in that positive vein.”
