Commenting, the DUP MP said, “The murder of Lee Rigby shocked the entire nation in both its brutality and the public nature of the unprovoked attack. Whilst his killers demonstrated the worst of human nature, the attack also witnessed passers-by standing over his body to protect Lee Rigby from further attack.
Whilst we here in Northern Ireland have seen those who serve in our Armed Forces facing a threat both on and off duty, the attack on Lee Rigby reinforced the courage and bravery of all those who serve our nation. It is right that this anniversary is marked and that we continue to make every effort to support those dealing with the kind of radicalism which fosters the hate displayed on the streets of London that day.”
