East-West Council meeting welcomed

DUP Leader Sir Jeffrey Donaldson MP has used his opportunity in Northern Ireland Questions to welcome the decision to hold the first UK East-West Council meeting in Belfast before the end of March.

“This is welcome news that the new U.K. East-West Council will meet in Belfast comprising representatives from the four parts of the UK. The new UK East-West Council will help to enhance connections between the UK nations on important issues such as trade, education and culture, including the establishment of Intertrade UK which will boost trade within the Union.

I believe this is the start of a process where the Government will continue to set out further additional measures to build our relationships and strengthen our collective links across the four nations that make up the United Kingdom.”
