Speaking afterwards East Londonderry MP Gregory Campbell said, “The footage broadcast was a gruesome and harrowing picture of the horrors which unfolded on 7th October. We appeared to be the only Northern Ireland MPs who took the opportunity to view these images today
Everyone with any sense of humanity earnestly wants to see an end to the violence blighting the lives of people in Israel and Gaza.
A ceasefire was in place prior to 7th October, but Hamas terrorists deliberately entered Israel and murdered more than 1,400 people and abducted 241 hostages including children and young people.
Hamas inflicts pain on suffering not just on its neighbours, but on the people of Gaza itself. As Israel seeks to defend its people, the people of Gaza deserve to be free from those who hide their operations beneath hospitals and use hostages as human shields. The horrendous footage shown today allowed a very harrowing insight into what many Israelis faced just a few weeks ago and were particularly poignant to view before many who have not watched them will offer their views during the debate in the House of Commons.”
