Economy Minister Diane Dodds today announced a new Assured Skills Academy with PwC offering 20 high quality training places for people with degrees.

The Academy will focus on software testing and automation and will see participants receive nine weeks of online training from Belfast Met. Participants who complete the course will be guaranteed an interview for a role with PwC’s Belfast team.

Commenting on the Academy, the Minister said: “I am pleased to announce this latest Assured Skills Academy with PwC, part of a series of Academies with the company being rolled out over a five-year period with a view to recruiting 600 new staff.

“In this Assured Skills Academy participants will gain the cutting edge skills they need to start a career in business services with PwC’s dynamic Belfast team.

“Assured Skills Academies are a proven method of helping people reskill while also facilitating growing companies to recruit the skilled people they need.

“This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who is eligible to kick-start a career in the field of software testing and automation in the business services sphere.”

Course content will cover areas including: software development lifecycles, software testing, automation, several coding languages and methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.

Applications for the PwC Software Testing and Automation Assured Skills Academy are open now and will close on 15 February 2021.

Applicants must hold a minimum 2:2 in any degree discipline.
