The local MP has highlighted her achievement and those of others from the town in a Commons motion.

Mr Campbell said, “The Great Britain team have set down a significant marker ahead of next year’s Olympic Games, and local rower Hannah Scott is amongst those whose sights are clearly set on Paris.

The British team hadn’t won a World Cup Championship gold in this event since 2010, but they can now look ahead to even greater things. Hannah has spoken of the inspiration she has drawn from Coleraine’s other medal winners. She can now stand alongside Richard and Peter Chambers and Alan Campbell in reaching the very top of British rowing.

It is a fantastic achievement for a town like Coleraine to have produced such a sporting legacy and we look forward to what can be achieved in the future. It is right that Hannah’s achievement is recognised more widely and many of us will look forward to her building on Coleraine’s proud rowing legacy.”
