The DUP MP said,“There can be few people who were not moved by the images of Kevin Sinfield as he picked up his friend from his wheelchair and carried him over the line of the inaugural Rob Burrow marathon.
He has raised not just funds, but awareness of the disease, and his latest effort taking him across all parts of the United Kingdom on the 230-mile route. Starting at Ravenhill, Kevin crossed Belfast, finishing his Northern Ireland leg at Windsor Park. Everyone will wish him well on the very fitting 7 in 7 challenge, with the target of raising £777,777 referencing once again his Rob Burrow’s shirt number.
Having so far raised over £16million to help those affected by this debilitating condition, ‘Hero’ is a word that has become almost commonplace in recent times but Kevin has made a massive impact on the lives of many people and will undoubtedly have an impact on many more as the money raised will hopefully bring a cure for the debilitating condition MND much closer.”
